2026 Primary and Election Season Information

 

Thursday, May 21,2026, 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Farr Regional Library Large Meeting Room
Join us as we welcome Carly Koppes, Weld County Clerk and Recorder, and Rudy Santos, Deputy Clerk, for a program about the 2026 election season and some basic information about voting in the upcoming elections.  As time permits they will cover such topics as:
  • Information about the upcoming primary on June 30, including how it will work for parties and unaffiliated voters
  • How voters should prepare for the election and voting in Weld County; i.e. mailing ballots vs. dropping off at dropbox locations, voting centers, new voting equipment/machines, etc.
  • What we need to know about the fall mid-term election
  • Election season dates and deadlines to be aware of
  • The number of registered voters in Weld County and how many (percentage) voted in the last election by party and unaffiliated
  • The continued purpose of party caucuses
A question and answer period will follow.  On the Event Calendar tab, select the event and register.  Everyone is welcome.  There is no fee, but please RSVP so we have an estimate for snacks and handouts.
 
Public Meeting on Cascadia Ballot Issue 1A

A public meeting on Ballot Issue 1A regarding the Cascadia project will be held Friday, February 20, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at the Family of Christ Presbyterian Church, 2410 35th Avenue, Greeley. The League of Women Voters of Greeley-Weld County is sponsoring this meeting to help voters understand the issue and what their vote means.

Rhonda Solis and Brandon Wark will speak on what the "Yes" vote means; Bill Rigler and Tom Donkle, representing Greeley Forward, will speak on the "No" vote. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions following their presentations which will be screened and read by League organizers.

    The League Leadership encourages you to register soon.  There is no fee but there are only 60 spaces available.  You can only register online at the League Website, or copy and paste this link into your browser: https://www.lwvgreeleyweldcounty.org/.  On the Event Calendar, select the February 20 Public Meeting and register.

Go to http://www.knowyourjudge.com for information about the Colorado Judges that are up for retention and who will be on the November ballot, plus information about Colorado's judicial merit selection and retention system. Additional information about judges who appear on the ballot for retention may be found in the Blue Book which is mailed to all households with registered voters.

Voter Education
We make voting easier through varied voter education programs:
  • Ballot Issue pamphlets
  • Ballot Issue presentations
  • Local candidate forums; e.g. city councils, county leadership, school boards
The League of Women Voters conducts voter service and citizen education activities. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization, which:
  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process.
  • Studies key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.
